New Media Art is a genre that encompasses artworks created with new media technologies, including digital art, photography, video, Internet art, and interactive art. In new media programs, students are acquainted with the newest forms of creation and communication. They learn how to sort through new emerging technological platforms and place them in a larger context of sensation, communication, production and consumption. The Printmaking course offers students a range of techniques and methods within the discipline as a means to develop a vocabulary for contemporary art practice. Professionals with an undergraduate or secondary degree in art can also pursue careers in teaching at the elementary, secondary, or post-secondary school levels, or apply their skills to a museum or gallery as Curator or Events Coordinator.
